The pickup section counts following parts:
- special moulded strip containing the actual piezo pickup-elements, this rests below:
- special hardwood frame that takes place of the standard bridge inlay.
This holds six precision shaped individual
bridge bone pieces (one each string).
These ensure maximum contact efficiency
to the piezo pickup elements beneath.
- the preamp housing, usually mounted on
the shoulder of the guitar.
The preamp/eq package has following
features/controls:
Built-in digital guitar tuner.
Eq section comprising 3-band
grapich eq, bass/mid/treble,
with additional rotary mid-sweep
control (0.6-1.2 kHz).
Optional 'notch' (dip) filter (0.05-2.0 kHz,
often useful for preventing feedback).
Master volume control.
Visual battery level indicator (LED).
Additionally you have the option of
connecting an extra mic (not included)
to the preamp.
Typically this would be a miniature
condenser or dynamic microphone.
If this option is used, following optional
controls are featured:
Sensitivity level adjustment for aux mic;
fixed at -/+20 dB.
Volume controls for piezo and aux mics.
Phase inverse button (controls phase
relationship between two mic signals).
The preamp/eq package is powered by
a standard 9V battery.
